5. Blister Machine Goes from Development to Full Production
EAGLE-Omni blister packaging machine from Maruho Hatsujyo Innovations (MHI)
WestPack 2022 Booth #5358
Aptly named, the Eagle-Omni blister packaging machine is one system that can go from product development to materials testing to production operation. The compact system — which measures just over 2 meters in length and 1.6 meters tall (about 6.5 x 5.25 feet) — has a format area of 150 x 95 millimeters (about 6 x 3.75 inches) and a forming depth of 30mm or 1.2 inches (40mm/1.5 inches forming depth is optional).
It can package a variety of solids, powders, liquids, or devices, including nutritional products, traditional tablets or capsules, gummies, devices, and other delivery formats. It can handle a variety of packaging materials, too: PVC, PVDC, ACLAR, PP, PET, and aluminum, as well as typical lidding substrates such as aluminum, paper, PVC, PET, and laminates.
The system performs forming, sealing, and punching operations at sequential stations, and runs at speeds up to 20 packs per minute.
In addition to live demonstrations of the physical machines, MHI will feature a special augmented reality station where WestPack attendees can view, interact with, and project this and other machines in full size.
