The new X34C compact X-ray inspection system from Mettler Toledo runs small, individually packaged products at high speeds. Examples include confectionary, snack, and bakery products. Products are inspected immediately after flow wrapping or pack sealing.
At just 700 millimeters long, including an integrated reject device, this X-ray system is suited to tight spaces. Line speeds are up to 400 packages per minute.
The system is “very compact, essentially about 2 feet wide versus 6 feet,” says Sarrina Crowley, marketing communications manager in Mettler Toledo’s Product Inspection Div. The X34C was designed as a “high-speed, single-lane system for inspecting small packaged products immediately after the flow wrapper.”
Although it’s compact, the system has all the features of other Mettler Toledo X-ray inspection systems and features the same software and tools.
In addition to flow-wrapped foods, the X34C “is ideal for small pharmaceutical products, such as blister packs, or any product at all that is small and running at high speeds,” Crowley says.
