Sweet-toothed sugar junkies rejoice! Pepsi relaunched its limited-edition Pepsi x Peeps collab nationwide this spring timed around Easter. This unusual but successful beverage combines the familiar taste of Pepsi with sweet marshmallow Peeps candy in an ultra bright yellow cans and similarly yellow labeled bottles emblazoned with the Pepsi logo surrounded by adorable bunny and duck shaped Peeps.
Affectionally dubbed “Peepsi” by fans, the co-branded soda initially debuted in 2021 to just 3,000 fans, The “pillowy soft” marshmallow-flavored soda quickly became a highly talked about, pop-culture product on social media and late-night TV, with cans selling for hundreds of dollars a piece on the secondary market.
Pepsi leveraged the product’s initial popularity by kicking off its relaunch with a full-on social media blitz that included leveraging Snapchat’s augmented reality technology to send fans on a virtual egg hunt this past April. To participate, fans scanned a code on their Pepsi x Peeps can or bottle with the co-branded AR Lens, which unlocked a secret code. That revealed if they had won a prize.
Pepsi x Peeps products were available for purchase nationwide, again in a limited-time only format, in 7.5-ounce mini-can multipacks and 20-ounce bottles.
