Described as a healthcare event “for the industry, by the industry,” the[PACK]out Conference debuts May 10-12, 2022, in Austin, Texas.

If you are a healthcare packaging professional looking to celebrate the discipline of packaging engineering, there’s a new educational event designed just for you: the[PACK]out Conference.

What makes this event different from others is that it is organized by people in the industry. Founding Experts include a Who’s Who of medical packaging (in alpha order): Johnson & Johnson, Network Partners, Oliver Healthcare Packaging, Packaging Compliance Labs, and Plastic Ingenuity.

The event already has generous support from industry through its Diamond Sponsors: Amcor, Beacon Converters, Belco Packaging Systems, Eastman, Packworld, PAXXUS, Placon, Prent Thermoforming, Printpack Medical, pti, QTS Medical Device Outsourcing, SencorpWhite, SteriPack Contract Manufacturing, Technipaq Inc., DuPont Tyvek, UFP MedTech, and Westpak.

Additionally, this conference is non-profit, giving net proceeds back to the healthcare packaging community.

In making the announcement on LinkedIn on Friday, October 1, Rod Patch, Senior Director, Package Engineering & Product Labeling, at Johnson & Johnson, said, “I am proud to be a Founding Expert for @the[PACK]out, a NEW conference for healthcare packaging professionals! the[PACK]out is built for the industry, by the industry and by an amazing team of volunteers. What an absolute honor and blessing to work with Kiley Djupstrom, Jenn Goff, Karen Polkinghorne, Sarah Rosenblum, Jill (Podhor) Cinalli, and Cassandra Peterson. My sincere appreciation and admiration to all of your super powers!”

The conference will take place next year at LINE Hotel Austin, Tuesday through Thursday, May 10-12. If you register by the end of this year (December 31, 2021), you can get Early Bird tickets for $750 each. After that, tickets are $900.

The agenda is still in the works but promises to connect peers and re-energize careers “by presenting fresh new content in an environment that sparks passion, drive, and curiosity,” according to the website.

Sarah Rosenblum, Senior Director of Sales & Marketing at Packaging Compliance Labs, explains, “For the agenda element, our goal is to create tracks that are specific to “you” (the packaging industry folks) so that you have tailored content that optimizes your return from the event. We want you leaving the event feeling empowered with new knowledge, enthusiastic about your career growth, and confident in your network of peers who can help around any turn.”

The event plans to nurture medical packaging careers in five areas:

• Find a Mentor
• Build Your Network
• Invest in Your Growth
• Give Back to the Industry
• Spark Innovation

Your peers would like you to “… join a community of like-minded healthcare packaging professionals in expanding your knowledge, network and passion for the industry.” Learn more at thepackout.com.
