The flexible system can apply tamper-evident bands and full sleeve labels to straight-sided containers of various heights.

Companies that use shoulderless or lipless bottles for pharmaceutical packaging and other applications now have an automated labeling solution for shrink sleeves and bands. The new Pharmafill Shoulderless Bottle Bander from Deitz can apply partial or full tamper-evident shrink bands to such bottles.

Packaging applications for the bander include pharmaceuticals, nutrition products, and cosmetics. Containers can be from 1 to 9 inches high, and the machine is compatible with banding materials 25 to 123 millimeters wide. The bander applies shrink bands at up to 100 bottles per minute, and it can be switched from shrink bands to full sleeve labels in minutes.

The bander integrates Deitz’s NB1 neck bander with its BCV2 hugger belt conveyor. The system holds the bottle in place as the shrink band is applied at the desired height, and the hugger belt prevents the band from falling to the bottom of the bottle. A heat gun starts to shrink the band as the bottle moves from the bander to the companion heat shrink tunnel for full sealing.

Deitz will be exhibiting this new product at Pack Expo Las Vegas 2021 (Las Vegas Convention Center, September 27-29), Booth SL-5801.
